Anyone else in the northeast particularly depressed about climate change since it’s impossible to ignore this winter? It’s December 7th in New Hampshire and raining and I hate it.

But here’s some stuff I don’t hate! (award for most brilliant seque goes to . . .)

Reading

I fucking ADORED Julia Fine’s ghost story slash postpartum thriller The Upstairs House (and wrote about my adoration here), so zero part of me is surprised to be fully enmeshed in Julia’s latest, Maddalena and the Dark. It’s set in 18th century Venice and features two girls and their desires (an oversimplification but reading a book focused on what girls want is so gratifying). Also, this cover?!

Absolute brilliance by Lizzie Harris.

Hmmm what do we make of Chip and Joanna self-describing as “peacemakers” and attempting to revamp their conservative image?
