I talked to Tia Levings about how things have changed (and how they’ve stayed the same) since the release of her memoir a year ago. We also discussed the Duggars, the realities of submissive wifehood, and what she thinks is missing from Ballerina Farm discourse.

I reported from the Turning Points USS festival for women before Charlie Kirk died, and Charlie and Erika’s one big project — like his main thing — was trying to convince these college women to drop out and volunteer for them and have babies. Now that Charlie’s dead and Erika’s taken over can you imagine the impact that messaging is going to have? She’s not the best public speaker — yet — but she talks about the importance of preserving the family in basically all of her speeches. And she’s the totem of a very powerful and very aggrieved movement. I don’t think we’ve seen the tip of the iceberg yet.
