Mac 'n cheese, anti-aging fantasies, and tradwives (always tradwives)
Plus my favorite Instagram account!
I’ve made a big discovery. I enjoy watching 4th graders play basketball more than I enjoy watching 4th graders play baseball or soccer. As a parent of a kid who loves sports, I’ve seen a lot of spooooorrrrrrtttts, and like, waiting to see if your kid will make a cool catch (sports lingo brag) or a big hit (another sports lingo brag sorry) during a baseball game or waiting to see if your kid will make one of 5 total goals in a soccer game - it’s a lot of waiting! But my sport-loving kid is playing basketball this winter, and I am both shocked and pleased to report that there is much more action involved. Multiple baskets made by multiple players! I’m here for it. (The fact that all the action wraps up promptly after a tight sixty minutes doesn’t hurt either).

Finally started Gabrielle Zevin’s Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow after multiple people with zero interest in video games assured me it really is that good. So far I’m charmed!
Eating
I’m here to tell you that a humble cabbage sliced into wedges, drizzled with olive oil, sprinkled liberally with salt and pepper, and roasted at a high heat until it’s slightly charred is a fucking culinary masterpiece. So crispy on the outside, so melty on the inside. I did not discover the beauty of roasted cabbage until this year and now, of course, I’m a cabbage evangelical.
My favorite Instagram account and the only one I’d likely miss in any meaningful way if the app shuttered tomorrow.
