My Ballerina Farm Movie Review
Some Thoughts About That Evie "Editorial Film"
Last Wednesday, mere hours before I was scheduled to bring my kids to see Moana II, it was brought to my attention by Instagram that Hannah Neeleman was Evie’s newest covergirl. Thereby cementing her status as Queen Of MAGA Trad.
It was breaking news, and I had to act [write] fast, and the result was an essay that simply couldn’t cover every pertinent detail of the Evie (anti-birth control, extremely pro-Trump) and Ballerina Farm collab. This mostly means that I had to save my pressing thoughts about the truly stunning cinematic masterpiece that accompanied the Evie piece.
Because my thoughts are so expansive (much like the rolling plains of Utah), I saved them for this movie review. So pop some popcorn, rekindle your appreciation for John Wayne, Oklahoma (the musical), Stanley Kubrick’s use of tinkly piano music in Eyes Wide Shut, AND Federico Fellini’s belief in the power of lighting to shape a story.
