Processing the Ballerina Farm Pregnancy
And birth of baby #9
It’s been a BUSY couple weeks for intrepid scholars of tradwife studies. Within the last ten days, Ballerina Farm announced a pregnancy within a protein powder ad, responded to a PR crisis about contaminated raw milk, AND had baby #9.
If you need to know what I think the most egregious thing about the pregnancy announcement/protein powder ad is, click here.
I also interviewed the brilliant Sarah Mesle about what tradwife hair is trying to tell us. I absolutely loved this conversation, which is proof that it’s nearly impossible to overthink anything when it comes to personal performance.
And in podcast news, Emily J. Smith and I talked to Emily Adrian about her delicious novel about personal myth-making and the nature of fidelity. I may or may not have revealed something questionable about my personal ideals of womanhood.

Man, I only get disgusted with these people because I find out about them. I was blissfully ignorant. Do I think this hoe is stupid and ridiculous? Yes. Along with every toothless anti-vaxxer that is a real-life Family Guy parody. But also- idgas anymore. If this broad wants to breed like a farm animal and die from eating contaminated food- so be it. All I know is that I’m getting riled up about people and lifestyles that don’t affect me one bit. And that’s the same shit I’ve been telling transphobics and the anti-gays for decades: how does this affect you in your daily life? It doesn’t. So worry about yourself and stop guarding bathroom doors. I guess it’s a living, but I can’t be arsed caring about what other people choose to do anymore. I can only choose how I react to it. And that’s to move on dot com. I got my own problems. I already know half of this nation is gross. I can’t be reminded of it even in my spam email inbox.
