The cat lady scandal of it all
The right has long struggled with what to do with Taylor Swift. Swift is white, blonde, thin, and marketably attractive. She loves a red lip, embraces femininity, regularly fucks around with a cottage core aesthetic, and many of her most famous songs feature princessy love stories which presumably end at the storybook [Christian] altar.
She is, in short, a tradwife’s fever dream.
Or at least, she should be. If only it weren’t for her pesky unmarried status, her lack of children, her impossibly huge cultural and financial power. For most of Swift’s career, the right has done their best to look away from so many glaring proofs of Swift’s Bad Womanhood™ simply because whichever political side lays claim to Taylor Swift also lays potential claim to the hearts and minds of the billions of people who listen to her music. And luckily for the tradwives and their angry husbands, Swift has largely remained politically neutral (much to the chagrin of many who believe she has a moral obligation to use her power for active good).
This isn’t to say Swift has never done ANYTHING political. She’s publicly spoken in support of voting, the queer community, and feminism.
But she’s never done this.
And the trad wives are NOT happy.
