The Satanic Panic
With SARAH MARSHALL (!!!!!)
I began my interview with the one and only Sarah Marshall (of You’re Wrong About fame) by telling her I was worried about my voice wobbling. Prior to the interview I fretted about my nerves to friends and expressed day-of regret that I hadn't tested out a beta blocker. There are very few public thinkers who have made such an impact on how I approach my work more than Sarah, which is why I told one pal that I would be less nervous if I was interviewing Taylor Swift. It's unclear if that's factually accurate, but it felt true at the time!! ANYWAY, I didn't plan to tell Sarah about my wobbly voice anxiety, but it was one of the first things that flew out of my mouth during our phone call. And in true Sarah Marshall form, she reassured me that we could just "wobble along together." I mean.
