Excellent interview - I look forward to reading the book. The MILF part made me wonder about previous generations and if my grandmother ever had hoped of remaining hot - and I’m pretty sure she did, seeing as she had a standing appointment at the hair salon for color touch up, even at age 94. I stumbled on this short film last night, and it definitely speaks to “moms are not titillating.” Parts are not for young eyes or the workplace. https://youtu.be/k1vCrsZ80M4?si=MVrVEf-7_3vQZw1n And yes to the freedom of friendship.

the hopefulness of remaining hot (even into old age)....I have to wonder - WHO are we trying to stay hot for? Our spouses/partners? The general public? OR for our (often female) peers? Watching my 70+ mom and sisters makes me think that a lot of this work is done to not lose face in front of other women more than anything.
