I love reading your posts, Sara, even though my kid is grown and gone--guess I still have mom stuff to work through (who doesn't) and I'm still intrigued by what you contribute to the world. And as I've said before, I wish I'd known you, say, fifteen years ago? Right? We learn too late . . . oh well. Such is the suck and delight of parenting. I did love your post on behind the scenes with a book because anything about publishing is stuff I'll read and learn from. And yes, me too, on tracking stuff with my newsletter. I'm grateful for every additional subscriber and those who also pay me to write this each week, but I have zero ability to track what does well or not. Maybe someday, but my business approach has mostly been intuitive in everything I create, and although I do like to review each choice from a personal satisfaction view and I do get blues when something I personally love does poorly in the world, I don't think I'll ever switch from what you call your vibes orientation to more serious planning mode. So far, so good.

Yes! If it's working! And I think I'll be ETERNALLY working through mom stuff lol.

Apparently I really enjoy a vibes based system of deciding what you write about because I have loved everything I have read so far. In Pursuit of Clean Countertops and Cult of Perfect have been so aligned with my interests!

I do subscribe to a bunch of newsletters on Substack, but can only afford to be a paid subscriber to a small handful. In Pursuit is one of my very favorites, and I rush to open it when it's in my Inbox because I know it's ALWAYS going to have something in it I want! It makes my life happier and brings me joy 🥰 I'm thankful for you, Sara, and your writing!❤️😘

Happy holidays to you and your loved ones! 🎄

i think this mostly illustrates how substack has a lot of writers all engaging with each others work. i am not a writer, i am not on social media and i am not traditionally a newsletter person. but alas, i am a paid subscriber to in pursuit because i enjoy the shit out of your voice and perspective. keep it up because whatever you are doing it percolating with a lot of us out there thanks,

Love your work! I think my favorites were the NMH and Rudy Jude posts. And BF obviously. Interestingly, I avoid anything about book writing or the publishing industry - I guess because I’m not an aspiring writer (at least, not outside of work)?

Anyway, this post reminded me of a text thread I have going with my friends about how they all track finances and long-term net worth and I don’t do any of that. All my goal-setting and spending is ~vibes~ based. But I do wonder if you’re the type of person who ruminates on things a lot then having them written down just doesn’t matter as much?

Well now I want to know what my own personal conversion experience was. Surely I started out free, then one day went that’s it take my money. But I will never do any digging to find out how to find out. Either way, your niche song newsletter was my favorite so far. I don’t even have kids, I just love how much I go “yes! Yes. OMG YESSS!” every time you hit my inbox. Keep it up!
