My kids are past the age of being worn but when I did strap them to my body by means of slings, wraps, and carriers so I could, oh, make myself a sandwich, or, like, move from one floor of the house to another, or maybe amble outside to remind myself of the sun’s existence, I never did so in a sense of desperation because I hadn’t slept in 27 hours, I never did so ungracefully, and I never, ever, ever found myself drenched in sweat.
As a horse owner I need to point out how incredibly dumb it is to hang out in your panties next to an unrestrained horse. He has no halter or anything to prevent him from banging his big head into that baby or stepping on her (probably bare) feet.
Are you KIDDING me with that second picture???? The baby doesn’t even look real/in there right. I was actually just wondering if my baby carriers were out of date and this convinced me to stick to them just to go against the grain of 370 dollar carriers 😱 I think I paid $80 for mine and I thought that was expensive!!!
Okay so I’m a feminist stepparent of teenagers who is not on social media but is fascinated by the many (deranged) societal expectations that get lumped on to women and.... holy mackerel, is this real?

I fell into their trap and purchased one. I thought I would be flouncing around with my baby. The strap barely fit around my post partum tummy and the material was pretty but scratchy. Claustrophobic straps! I wore it a few times and realized that I am not suited for baby wearing due to an old neck injury. I ended up giving it to a friend.
It’s unsettling and disturbing. All I can think to say is that It seems like there’s a merging of objectifying women as both sexual objects and baby machines. Very sickening.
I wore a wrap once and felt like I had looped myself into a straight jacket. When I had my first at age 26 I bought a beautiful orange silk sling that matched the dress I was wearing to a wedding. Was completely impractical and didn’t fit properly but it was gorgeous 😍 Now on #4 and using the same basic brown ring sling and black ergo that were purchased in 2009.
This reminds me of when I bought a new to the market rocker/bouncer for the looks (and for the fact that it was slightly cheaper than the baby bjorn). Thing turned out to be a cheap piece of plastic that was a safety nightmare. Normally I give away our used baby stuff. That sucker got chucked in the dumpster as soon as we got a replacement. Should have just go the Bright Starts bouncer from the get-go.
I think she’s asleep in the last image, that would be most realistic!
I am so curious to test drive one, I feel pretty certain that it can’t actually be better than just a regular Ergo in a utility capacity. But I guess that isn’t what they are selling. The amount of free gifting they do on social to influencers really annoys me. It makes people think that a luxury carrier is “normal.”
I tried a few different ones that family had, I preferred the wrap ones bc they were softer! I saw very little difference between structured Ergo and $20 one my MIL had from Wal Mart!
Same here — I used basic slings or wraps with all four of mine. The simpler the better, as long as the fabric was soft and sturdy. They were so helpful during the first 9 months or so. I could get my shopping done with them during the day when I had more energy. And just getting out of the house seemed easier.

Yes!! At first it looks like one of her boobs is out, but it’s the baby’s head 🫣

LMAO. I can't believe this is real ...
I don’t even know what to say about those pictures.

So like I want to sell my carriers (too many, I was obsessed) but it appears they WERE zeitgeisty and are now too dated for new zeitgeisty māmās 🥲

I feel like they're all pretty similar? Like a carrier is a carrier?
